A story which lurched from clunky to downright cheesy. Brief glimpses of lyricism peeked through, but sadly these moments were few and far between.
The characters and their relationships were all a bit Mills and Boon for me; charicatures rather than individuals, dialogue verging on the farcical, each going through their set piece motions.
In the end, what could have been an unsusual and imaginative premise, lost its way as much as it lost the bookshop in its title.
