Well it was a great idea at the time, not so great by the end of the first ninety minutes, at which point my brain went to mush. I’d actually played pretty well before then, but it’s easy to forget that tennis is as much a mind game as it is a physical game.
It’s also a social game, and so aching brain and muscles aside, I enjoyed the full three hours enormously, even if I was frustrated with myself as the wheels came off later on. What really matters is that I’m meeting people and making new friends from all walks of life.
Plus everyone’s really chatty, which does give me a bit of a breather in between sets.
