You can’t go wrong with an egg

Unless it floats. Obviously. Then you can go very wrong. But in my case now the days are getting longer and the sun is rising higher in the sky, my small tribe of hens is laying again after their winter break.

That means scrambled, poached or boiled eggs for breakfast, and omlettes for lunch.

Simple, natural and delicious!

Rare breed hens

I have two araucanas; Michonne (with the ears), a rumpless and Carol (grey with a fluffy head), an idiot. Araucanas originate from Argentina and are the original blue egg laying hens.

And two fluffy-footed, five-toed faverolles, Una (the black one), a goddess, Bean is next to her, she’s Una’s BFF. These girls lay small pink eggs.
